Today, 10 December 2021, Morana Lukač and Adrian Stenton, both of them working within the context of the (former) Bridging the Unbridgeable project, will be giving the final talk this calendar year of the LUCL Sociolinguistics Series, from 4 pm to 5 pm (CET).
The talk is called “Why we need to investigate the work of copy editors”, and will be presented online.

Bridging the Unbridgeable 
What a coincidence! This morning there was an online talk that I organised for editors of academic texts, entitled “Student, proofreader and lecturer perspectives on proofreading practices: an overview based on ongoing research” (see https://www.sense-online.nl/members-events/sig-events/event/763-unisig-student-proofreader-and-lecturer-perspectives-on-proofreading-practices-an-overview-based-on-ongoing-research) in which PhD student Fiona Richards from Sheffield University (UK) revealed some of her research findings and we discussed the interventions made to academic texts by editors. Would either Morana or Adrian – or both – be interested in giving an abridged version of their talk next year for SENSE UniSIG?
