2026 is a Fowler centenary: 100 years of his Dictionary of Modern English Usaage, a usage guide that was immensely popular from day 1 onwards. “Fowler” is very much still a household name today, and as a noun, the word was given an entry in the Oxford English Dictionary around the year 2018. It took a while, but well done OED!
